With your subscription to the A.D. Toolbox, we provide a software (at no charge to you) called Adobe Acrobat 6.0 for Windows. With
Adobe Acrobat (not Adobe Reader) installed on your computer, you have the unique ability to print documents to .PDF. PDF files can
be viewed by anyone who has Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat installed on their computer.
Printing a file to PDF is almost as if you were turning the file into an image. This allows you to view the document but you will NOT be
able to make any edits to it. This is particularly helpful when you’d like to have a copy of your existing compliance reports from your
current or past subscription service.
HOW DO I PRINT TO PDF?
Printing to PDF is rather simple. But first, you MUST HAVE ADOBE ACROBAT installed on your computer. As I mentioned above, this
is provided to all first-time subscribers for free (a software valued at $150).
Open your existing report as you normally would and select Print. On the print dialog box, instead of printing to your normal printer,
you would change your print to the “Adobe PDF Printer”. Then click OK. It will ask you to give the file a name and save it to your
computer. Once you have done so, you should see a status bar indicating that it is printing to pdf. Once it is finished, the new PDF
file should automatically pop-up on your screen.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PDF FILES?
PDF files can be viewed by anyone who has Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat installed on their computer. Adobe Reader, is a free
downloadable computer online. This means that you can even send your customers an un-editable electronic copy of their reports if
you’d like to.
Although you can not edit these “printed” files, you can highlight and copy the information they contain which will allow you to paste
that content into another reporting tool.
IS THERE ANY OTHER WAY TO CONVERT MY EXISTING REPORTS?
With some subscription services, there is a way to import the material into the A.D. Toolbox reporting tools. We recommend that you
call us to see if your previous provider is one of them.
