Frequently Asked Questions
How do I work the flip pad in the Interactive Tools?
The flip pad is available in all of the Interactive Tools
(IADCRT, Appliances and STCs) and is very easy to
use once you learn the basics.
There are 3 pieces of information the flip pad provides:
-the No. of the specific record you are in aka the
Current Record,
-how many records are in the file, and
-how many active records are in your report/records
being browsed.
NOTE: In the IADCRT and Appliances Tools, a record
refers to an individual AD. In the STCs Tool it refers to
an individual STC.
In this example (top right) we see that we have a total
of 8 Records (ADs) in our file and in our report. If we
choose to Hide the superseded ADs by clicking on the
appropriate button, we’ll notice that these numbers
change.
The flip pad tells us that there are now only 6 active
records (ADs) in our report (middle right). The
superseded ADs have temporarily been hidden from
our report and will not be printed.
This is important information to know because when
you print your report you will need to choose “Print:
Records Being Browsed”. If you choose “Current
Record”, you will only print a single AD.
When you print your Profile Cover Sheet, you will
want to choose “Current Record” and make sure that
you are in Record #1.
In the Interactive Supplemental Type Certificate Tool
(illustrated to the right), the flip pad tells us the total
number of STCs. If we were to do a search (Find) for
say “floats” in the description field the flip pad would
adjust to show us the “Found” results.
