Why do some of my IADCRT files have additional heading information and a profile
cover sheet, while others don't?
The first answer that comes to mind is that if the file does not have the heading information and profile cover sheet (PCS), it was
probably created before update disc #2007-04B.  Update disc #2007-04B introduced additional heading information, a Profile Cover
Sheet and a third report layout which holds 10 ADs per page.  Unfortunately, your reports created before this update will not
automatically switch to the new format.  You will need to manually change your existing reports from the old template to the new
template.

To do so, we recommend opening a new copy of your airframe report.  Begin by locating a file of your airframe by clicking on the AD &
TCDs drawer from the main menu, followed by clicking on the Small Aircraft link.  From the Small Aircraft Directory, locate your Model
No. and click on it once to bring up the AD Summary List screen.

SUMMARY
·  From the AD Summary List of your model, click the “AD Report” button.
·  Follow Steps 1 and 2 to save and open your new report.
·  Go to the Records menu at the top of the program and select “Delete Found Records”.  Then click “Delete All”.
·  Go to the File menu and choose “Import Records” à “File”.  Locate your file and click “Open”.
·  On the “Import Field Mapping” dialog box, make sure “View By:” is set to “Matching names”.  Click “Import”.
Congratulations you’re done!  We recommend double checking your heading information before you continue on.

FULL EXPLANATION
·  From the AD Summary List screen, click on the “AD Report” button in the upper left hand corner of your screen.  This will open a
new interactive report in the IADCRT.
·  Once the IADCRT launches, follow Steps 1 and 2 and “Save a Copy of this File” and then immediately “Open the File You Just
Saved”.  You’ll notice that the blue heading bar at the top of the program will contain the file name of the file you have open.
·  In your new empty report, go to the Records menu at the top and select “Delete Found Records”.  This will delete all the ADs from
your empty report, leaving any empty shell which we will then import your existing report into.  Once you’ve deleted the found records,
the flip pad should say “Records: 0”.
·  To import your existing report, go to the File Menu and choose “Import Records” à “File”.  In the “Open File” dialog box, locate your
existing completed report (the one that doesn’t have heading fields and PCS) and click “Open”.
·  An “Import Field Mapping” dialog box will appear.  Here we will want to make sure that “View by:” in the upper right hand corner is
set to “Matching Names”.  Then click “Import”.  The flip pad should now indicate there are several Records (or ADs) in your file.  You
have now successfully imported your existing report!

The first thing you’ll want to do is double check your information on the “Heading Info” screen.  The correct model number should
read directly below the IADCRT title.  If the model is incorrect, click on the model text and type in the correct model.  Once you have
done so, push “Control” + “=” on your keyboard.  A dialog box will appear, make sure the first bullet is selected and click “Replace”.
From here you can edit your heading information, create a Profile Cover Sheet, use the 10pp report layout, or make any additional
edits to your report content.  If at any time you make changes to your heading information in Step 3, make sure you populate your
heading fields by clicking the button in Step 4.
